Girls Long Jump- Kate Hall breaks her own Maine all-time best with a huge 18-5 3/4 leap!
Hall who came into the competiton as the #2 seed was jumping up to her expectations, so her dad gave her some advice before her last jump. He told me "Just go win it". Hall almost did just that as she leapt an all-time best 18-5 3/4 to take over the lead with one jumper reamining. As all good competitors do Catherine Lacy of Darien, CT repsonded with the winning jump of 18-7. Hall's mark shattered her previous Maine all-time best of 18-0 1/2.

Girls 2 Mile- Brown is the runner-up with Sandreuter finishing 3rd
Brown really went after a fast time hitting early splits of 2:32-5:08. At that point the grimace of a hard effort was evident in her face and stride with every lap. While Brown had opened up enough gap to win section 10:45.86, freshman Hannah DeBalsi would run 10:39.43 in the first section 1 to win the race overall. Greely's Kirsten Sandreuter had a great race as she was in the chase pack the entire race, and make up significant ground over the last 600m of the race. The time was a personal best for Kirsten.
