Top Junior Boys 2012-2013 Indoor Track

The junior class of 2014 had plenty of success in 2012-13. In the sprints Biddeford's James Ociti ran the 2nd fastest 400m in the Class A state mee 50.26, his time broke the old state meet record. Ociti's was also 6th int the 55m 6.77at the state meet and just missed the podium with an 8th in the 200m. Foxcroft's Ryan Wang had a strong year leading the way in the 55m (6.73). Wang was 3rd in the Class B 55m, & 200m races.

Distane runners lead the class of 2014. Ellsworth's Dan Curts is at the front of the pack as he had the top times for the juniors in the 800m, mile & 2 Mile. Curts won the mile & 2 mile at the Class B state meet. He would go on to finish 4th in the New England in the 2 mile despite running out of the slow heat. At Nationals he ran his seasonal best 9:19.22, which is one of the fastest 2 Mile times in state history indoors. Other distance aces were Ben Decker of Yarmouth who was the 2 Mile sate runner-up, Decker ran the 3rd fastest 2 Mile this winter in the state (9:41.55)

In the field events South Portland's Duncan Preston was a standout, Preston finished 2nd in the Class A shot put heaving it out to a personal best 51-2 1/2. Duncan showed he maybe the most verstaile field athlete in the state as he was also the top junior long jumper 20-2 1/2, which placed him 3rd in Class A meet, and he added a 5th in the triple jump (40-11 1/4). Another standout jumper was Jordhan Levine (Waterville) who had the top triple jump mark (42-2 1/2) on the season. Levine was 3rd in the Class B triple jump, 5th in the long jump & 5th in the hurdles.
