Tell us how your summer training is going?

Summer training is going well. I have been having a lot of fun doing most of my runs with my younger brother, Jeb. He pushes me to go a little bit faster than I normally would.

What are your goals for the upcoming season?

My main goals are to stay healthy and PR.

How long have you been running and how did you get started?

I started running cross country and track in 7th grade. Before that I would usually just run at soccer practice.

Will you be competing anywhere out of state this season?

During the regular season we will be competing at the Manchester invitational

What is your favorite course to run in Maine?

For some odd reason my absolute favorite cross country course is Twin Brook.

What is the toughest course to run in Maine?

The toughest course in Maine is probably a toss up between Marshwood's course at Vaughan Woods and our course at the apple orchard. Both are very hilly and easy to trip up on.

What meet during the regular season do you put extra emphasize on to compete well at?

We put a lot of effort into every race we do but, if I had to pick, I would say that we put emphasis on competing well at the invitationals

What is your favorite cross country race so far in your high school career & favorite cross country memory?

I think my favorite race was last year at Regionals. I felt great, got to race on my favorite course, and most of the team competed really well that day. One of my favorite XC memories is when after our race at the Manchester invitationals last year Angel Waters, Emily Wasina, and I were cooling down and the "Cupid Shuffle" began to play over the speakers. We ended up working out a way to dance to the song and run at the same time.

When you are not running what is your favorite thing to do?

One of my favorite non-running activities is playing ultimate frisbee with my family and friends.

Favorite quote?

"The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past... we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it." -Charles Swindoll

What shoes do you train in?

For the past couple of years I have used the Mizuno wave Inpire's. But I recently got a pair of Asics GT-2000's that I am excited to try out.

What shoes do you race in?

I race in a pair of New Balance XC spikes.

What professional athlete would you most like to meet?

I would most like to meet either Adrian Peterson or Ryan Hall.

What is something that most people don't know about you?

Most people don't know that I have 7 siblings, all of which have run or are running cross country for Massabesic.
