Caribou sweeps the Presque Isle Invitational
Results: Boys Varsity | Boys JV | Girls Varsity | Girls JV
The Caribou Varsity and JV boy's and Girl's won the PI Invitational on difficult 3.16 mile course on UMPI Cross Country Course.
In the girls varsity race Amanda Boyd (pictured left) a junior from John Bapst, cruised to individual win. Boyd crossed the finish in 21:18.41, her winning margin was 48 seconds over Grace Graham of Greater Houlton Christian Academy.
Old Town freshman Audree O'meara finished 3rd with a 22:18, followed a step later by Julia Page of Caribou 22:19. Mandy Graham of Presque Isle rounded out the top 5.
The Caribou prevailed in the girls varsity team race by 10 points over Old Town. The Vikings on the strength of their #4 & 5 runners edged ahead after the Coyotes held the lead through 3 runners. Caribou's averaged 23:37 with a 1-5 runner split of 1:42.
On the boys side, junior Isaiah Brown of Houlton pulled away from a pair of Caribou runners to earn the win in 18:33.83. A pair of Caribou seniors, Caleb Hunter (18:42) & Chathu Karunasiri (18:43) finished second & third. They were followed in fourth by senior Jason Bartley of Presque Isle (19:00). While Caribou sophomore Daniel Randolph rounded out the top 5 in 19:10.
it was all Caribou in the team race as the Vikings had all 5 scorers runners in the top 9 for a score of 20 points. Old Town was 50 points back of Caribou in second place.
In the JV Race ,Alec Cyr of Caribou won with a time of 20:28 and Emily Austin from Caribou took the girls race with a time of 25:01.
