Southwestern SMAA Boys Champions



The SMAA Southwestern boys meet was exciting and produced several top performances, including three new league records. Below we have the podium shots of most events (If you have Sr SP & Sr TJ, please send them to Dveilleux@milesplit.us)




The Scarborough boys won the 4x800 relay as the Red Storm stopped the clock at 8:39.69.


It was a 1-2-3 sweep in the Jr Shot Put for Thornton Academy, Jason Montano threw a personal best 42-10 1/4 to capture the title.


Sam Rusak of Scarborough out jumped the rest of the field in Sr High Jump with his 6-0 clearance.



Freshman Trejyh Fletcher of Cheverus was tops in the Jr High Jump with a winning jump of 5-8.



Dominic Creenan broke the Jr 55m Hurdles record with his 7.93 winning effort in the final.


Scarborough's Griffin Madden repeat as champion in the Sr 55m Hurdles, he crossed the line in a time of 7.84.


Tucker Weeks of Thornton Academy won a close Jr 55m final, his winning time was 6.91.


Ernie Ruby of Windham speed his way to the win in the Sr 55m as he stopped the clock at 6.79.


Freshman Iessa Ramadan took the 600yd race with a winning time of 1:18.99.


Tucker Weeks added another win in the Jr Long Jump when he jumped a personal best 19-6 1/2.


Keegan Fowler made it a sweep for the Trojans as he won the Sr Long Jump with a leap of 19-7.


Colin Tardiff of Scarborough kicked his way to victory in the Mile as he crossed the finish line in 4:32.81.


Three individual events, the individual win for Tucker Weeks, who captured the Jr 400m with a 54.31.


Deering's Paolo DeMarco took the Sr 400m with a 51.43 winning performance.


Landon Heidrich of Thornton Academy used a strong finishing kick to win the Jr 800m, his winning time was 2:12.58.


Colin Tardiff took the Sr 800m with a strong last 300m, as he had splits of 62-59 for his winning time of 2:01.36.


No one could touch Iessa Ramadan of Deering in the Jr 200m, as she steam rolled to a 23.81 winning performance.


Paolo DeMarco added his second win of the day as he ran 23.41 to win the Sr 200m.


Scarborough's Connor Doherty cruised to the win in the 2 Mile with his 10:09.14.


Dominic Creenan won his second event of the day in the Jr Triple Jump, as he got a new personal best with his 40-1 3/4 leap. 


Scarborough took the Sprint Medley in a state best time of 3:47.98, behind a 2:03 anchor leg from Andrew Sholl.


Deering broke their own league record in the Jr 4x200m as they stopped the clock at 1:38.0.


Thornton Academy came from behind on the final leg of Dan Marsh to win the Open 4x200m relay with a time of 1:36.08.


Scarborough's Sam Rusak shattered his own league record in the Pole Vault with a vault of 15-9, that mark moves him to Maine all-time #2 indoors.

Thornton Academy coach George Mendros was named the Boys Coach of Year.
