Tell us how your summer training is going?

My training has been good, although I often procrastinated running until last minute (so basically I ran in the dark a lot). I am super happy now that preseason has started!

What are your goals for the upcoming season?

I am really excited for the season, I think our team is going to do great this year! I am hoping we can qualify for states as a team. Individually I want to keep all my races under 21 minutes and get a new pr.

How long have you been running and how did you get started?

I started running xc my freshman year, before that I played field hockey. But after years of hearing crazy xc stories from my brother, Patrick, and spending a total of 13 hours in a car with him and two other runners while driving to and from a race, I decided I had to join xc and find out why it was so great.

Will you be competing anywhere out of state this season?

Our team is running the manchester invitational this year, which is in New Hampshire.

What is your favorite course to run in Maine? I'm not sure... I like Freeport, Belfast, and our home course, anything thats not too hilly.

What is the toughest course to run in Maine?

TWIN BROOK IS DEATH!

What meet during the regular season do you put extra emphasize on to compete well at?

I try to do my best at every meet, but the manchester invitational and our home meet are very important to me.

What is your favorite cross country race so far in your high school career & favorite cross country memory?

Every memory from xc is great! States my freshman year was amazing. Despite not qualifying, the entire team came to cheer me on. It was raining and freezing cold, and by the time I finished my race I was covered in mud. Running down the home stretch both the boys and girls teams were cheering for me. We then proceeded to eat multiple bags of candy that we had collected the night before (halloween). Another fun memory was when the girls team decided to follow the boys team on an easy day to see where they went. We followed them down to a field of old corn where we engaged in a corn war. (of course we won)

When you are not running what is your favorite thing to do?

Besides running I enjoy hanging out with friends, going to the beach, and nordic and alpine skiing in the winter.

Favorite quote?

"Has anyone ever had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich?"- Coach Reilly

What shoes do you race/train in?

I run in Asics Gel Nimbus, and race in Saucony Shay xc spikes.

What was your favorite Olympic Moment in Rio?
There were so many amazing moments during the Rio olympics, it is hard to pick! My favorite was probably when Wayde Van Niekerk won gold and set a new world record in the 400.

What professional athlete would you most like to meet?

Jennifer Simpson

What is something that most people don't know about you?

My team may appear normal but they are actually insane. But thats okay because I am too.
