Hampden Academy KVAC XC meet recap

The Brewer girls were dominant for the third time in as many weeks while the Hampden Academy boys showed they'll be a force to reckon with in the Eastern Maine Class A ranks this fall.
The Bronco boys scored 33 points to win a four-team meet on their home course, while Brewer earned runner-up honors with 58. Bangor finished third with 69 and Waterville's 82 rounded out the field.

The Witches, led by the 1-2 finish of Michelle Haluska and Kaitlin Noyes, finished with 23 points while Bangor was second with 36. Hampden was third with 85 and Watervile third with 89.
Brewer's girls tucked all five of its scorers in the top 10, with Sara Chavarie (5th), Katie Snow (6th) and Brooke Madden (9) joining Haluska and Noyes.
Ashley Geiser ran solid in her return to the line-up, while Bekah Clark expects to return next week at Leavitt after missing the last couple meets with a sore back.
Katie Porter (3rd), Rachel Huber (4th), Kendall Lunn (8th) and Joyce Belanger (10th) earned top-10 finishes for Bangor.

On the boys' side, Hampden's 1-3-6 finish was too much for much, as Michael Bommorito won in 16:08 over his 2.84 mile, challenging, hilly home course. Teammate Evan Piccirillo finished third for the Broncos.
Sam Nesbitt led Bangor with a fourth-place finish while Kyle Holyoke (7th) and Steven Rice (9th) sparked Brewer.
