WMC Conference Boys Team Preview
With 5 of the top 10 teams in the most recent MTCCCA poll going head to head at the Western Maine Conference Championship meet Friday at Falmouth it expects to be a very competitive meet, both teamwsie and individually. Here is a look at the ranked teams.

Greely comes into the WMC Championship as the favorite. They are ranked #2 in the most recent MTCCCA poll and have run very well this fall. A victory in the Small School race at the Manchester Invitational has been the highlight so far, at Manchester they averaged 17:02 for 5k. They are led by senior James LePage,junior Logan Price, & junior Mark McCauley. They are coming off a strong 2nd place showing at the Festival of Champions meet, where they were edged out by Scarborough 92-97. Falmouth Yachtsmen |

Falmouth comes into the championship season running better each meet out. They were ranked #5 in this week's MTCCCA poll. Last weekend at the Festival of Champions, Falmouth was the 4th place team. They averaged 17:56 for 5k, with a 55 second spread 1-5. They are led by freshman Tim Follo & senior Jamey Epstein. Cape Elizabeth Capers |

Cape Elizabeth will have another strong team toeing the line this week. Cape had last week off after racing at the Ocean State Inivitational the previos week, so they will be fresh and ready to race. They are led by standout senior Matt Rand who is undefeated in the state of Maine this year, he has defeated all the top runners in the field this season. Cape averaged 17:35 for 5k at the Ocean State meet. Cape narrowly defeated Falmouth 33-34 the last time the two teams met on the Falmouth course in September. York Wildcats |

York moved up the ranking from #9 to #6 after last weekend's performance at the Festival of Champions. They are led by Alex Moser, who will be shooting for the individual crown. York averaged 17:59 at FOC. They were 63 points back of Falmouth. York will have to keep improving to have a shot at the three teams likely ahead of them. Yarmouth is an upstart team that broke onto the scene in a big way with last weekend's performance at the Festival of Champions with a 7th place finish, which promptly got then into the top 10 teams in the latest MTCCCA Poll. At FOC the team averaged 18:19 for 5k. Yarmouth will need there #5 runner to step it up if they want to continue to ascend the ranks.
