Isaiah Harris off to World Championships, US runner-up in 800m, 1:44.53!

Lewiston native Isaiah Harris continued his strong 2017 outdoor season with a career best second place in the US Championship 800m on Sunday. Harris clocked a personal best 1:44.53 to punch his ticket to the World Championship in London later this summer.

Harris who runs for Penn State executed a strong race as he went through the 400m 51.87 sitting in fourth place. With 100m to go he was positioned perfectly for his homestretch run as he moved past Eric Sowinski into second place. Harris would close out his final 400m in 52.66, the second best close in the field.

Earlier this year at the NCAA Championship Isaiah finished as an All-American with his second place finish running 1:45.40. 

Dononvan Brazier won the event with a 1:44.14 effort.
