Scarborough boys and girls made it a sweep of the Maine Class A state indoor team titles, which was a fifth straight title for the Scarborough girls (77 pts). Three state records were set for Class A including a 1:48.71 performance by the team champions from Scarborough in the 4x200 meter relay.

Cam Stevens took down the 400 meter dash state record as the Gorham junior clocked in at 50.37. Stevens later anchored the Gorham 4x200 to victory in 1:36.45.

The 4x800 meter relay quartet from Cheverus High School shattered the Class A state record in the event with a time of 8:19.05.

Brewer High School junior Ben Sinclair was the most dominant sprinter in the meet with a pair of individual titles in the 55 meter dash (6.63) and 200 meter dash (23.19).

A pair of hurdlers from Bonny Eagle High School went 1-2 in the finals of the 55 meter hurdles finals with Jamie Ruginski as the winner at 7.91 and teammate Nick Winslow close behind in second at 7.98.

The Scarborough girls had a well-rounded team effort to lead to their state championship. Not only did they take the sprint relay in the 4x200, but also were winners in the 4x800 meter relay with a time of 10:06.36.

Whitney Chamberlain was Scarborough's lone individual champion on the track with a solid indoor 800 performance of 2:19.33 as the senior won decisively by four seconds in the event. Her squad was given a great early boost in points from the field events earlier though with a state champion in the shot put with Catie Funk and in the long jump with Lauren Blaisdell (17'2.75"). Funk's winning mark of 39'10" ranks her #33 in the US.

Cheverus High School has a star freshmen distance runner in Fiona Hendry as the ninth grader claimed two individual state titles with a 5:10.99 victory in the mile and follow up win in the 2 mile run in 11:40.34.

Brunswick senior Kristin Slotnick proved herself to be on another level than the rest of the sprinters within the state of Maine by successful completing the difficult state title trifecta by winning the 55 meter dash (7.27), 400 meter dash (58.80), and 200 meter dash (26.38).

Edward Little High School finished with 56.50 points as state runners-up to Scarborough and can attribute many of their points to Emily Doge, the Maine Class A state champion in the 55 meter hurdles (8.68) and triple jump (36'11.25").

Top individual performers for the boys state team champions from Scarborough (56 pts) included individual champions Brad Nakanishi in the pole vault (13'6") and Sam Chick in the 800 meter run (2:04.57) as well as runner-up performance from Nate Hathaway in the mile run to Cony High School junior Luke Fontaine (4:26.21).
