Luke Laverdiere Repeats in 15:10, Sofie Matson Runs Away With Girls Title

Concord, NH takes the boys' team title with 56 points, while Glastonbury, CT takes top honors on the girls side.


Yarmouth senior Luke Laverdiere ran the second fastest time in meet history with his 15:10.8 winning effort. It was Lavediere's second straight FOC title.

Freshman Sofie Matson of Falmouth dusted the field at the Maine XC Festival of Champions. She opened up a large lead just 800m into the race, and never looked back. Matson's winning time was 18:17.33

Senior Max Sparks of Canton, CT broke 16 minutes for the first time with his runner-up finish of 15:41.42.

Sophia Lakuli of Yarmouth running in her first season of XC was the runner-up in a surprise finish of 18:36.46. Lakuli who is a nordic skier decided to run this fall, looks like it was a good choice.

Junior Forest MacKenzie from Concord, NH led his team to victory with his third place finish. Mackenzie finished with a time of 15:45.66

Greely junior Carolyn Todd placed third overall with her 18:37.98 5k effort.
