Paul Tetreault Is Your 2017 Hometown Hero presented by Quicken Loans

On behalf of the national mortgage lender Quicken Loans, FloSports is excited and honored to award Paul Tetreault, track and cross country coach at North Kingstown High School in Rhode Island with $25,000 to put towards a year's worth of mortgage payments for being named the 2017 Hometown Hero.

Back in March, FloSports conducted a nationwide search for coaches who provide the fundamental groundwork for their athletes to excel and who exhibit an ability to build strong communities by showing the importance of teamwork, goal setting, and work ethic. Over 1,000 phenomenal nominees came in across 16 different sports, and after an excruciating process to nail it down to 5 coaches -- the people have spoken.

Paul Tetreault has been a coach for 35 years and is the true definition of a Hometown Hero. Contending for a state championship every year in track and cross country is one thing, but it is what he does off the field for which his athletes respect him the most.

One thing Coach T stresses even more than running is "Paying it Forward". Spending countless hours donating his time to the local Ronald McDonald house, volunteering his time to local road races, and even cooking meals with his family for those with sick children -- at the end of every email coach sends he leaves a list of things that his athletes can do to make a difference in the community.

No longer will Coach T's contributions to his athletes and his community go unnoticed!

Thank you to everyone who nominated a coach for the 2017 Hometown Hero Award, and to all the coaches across the country for preparing and encouraging today's athletes to excel on and off the field, court or mat.
