The Brewer boys held off a strong challenge from Hampden Academy 78-73 to win the EMITL title, this was their second in the last three years.

The Witches got two individual wins on the night as senior shot putter Garrett Graham threw 52-0 to win the event. While in the 200m it was junior Johann Gerling going 23.47 to break the tape first. Gerling added a third in the 55m dash.

Senior Phillip Feeney added right key points with his runner-up finish in the 55m hurdles (8.49). Junior Joshua Hart cleared 11-0 in the pole vault to earn runner-up honors. Classmate Jonathan Donnelly ran to a third place in the mile (4:43.34) & came back in the 800m to add six more points with his 2:06.03 effort.

For runner Hampden Academy they were paced by distance standout Wyatt Lord who won the mile in a time of 4:29.19. Then he turned the field away in the 800m with his winning effort of 2:02.22.

The Broncos also got a win from Jason Mathies in the two mile (10:34.71), he was followed by freshman Connor Glowa (10:38.41) for 18 key points.

The most outstanding performer was shared as Ben Cotton of John Bapst & Zachary Beaton of Hermon each won three individual events to score thirty points a piece.

Cotton won the 55m dash in a Class B leading and state #2 effort of 6.65, lowering his personal best of 6.78. He followed that up with another personal best in the 400m clocking 53.04 to take the win. In the long jump Cotton had his best performance of the night as he jumped 21-6 1/2 to break the facility record, and claim the top spot in the state. This mark improved on his 20-9 3/4 best.

Beaton a junior from Hermon jumped a personal best 6-4 to win the high jump, this mark is Class B #1, and state #2. In the 55m hurdles he easily turned back the field to win in a time of 8.0. Completing his triple win he set another personal best in the triple jump with his 42-2 leap, which ranks him #2 in Class B.
