Junior Molly McGrail of Maranacook is one of the most versatile runners in the state, last spring she was sprinting her way around the track winning the 800m at the Class C state meet, along with running 58.97 for the 400m, and  27.27 for 200m.

On Saturday she traded in the sprint spikes for XC spikes, and ran her way to a dominate victory in the KVAC Class B meet. The runner-up last fall there was no doubt about winning this year as McGrail stopped the clock at 20:32.3, an impressive 1:21 in front of her teammate Sophie O'Clair.

The winning time was the second best overall time on the day only behind Class A winner Jillian Richardson. It always was much faster than the 21:29 McGrail clocked on the same course three week prior, and 24 seconds faster than a year despite the conditions.

O'Clair's runner-up finish was a strong 21:53.5 effort, she was followed across the line by Medomak Valley junior Serena Blasius in 22:16.9. 

Jenny Wilbraham of Morse was next in a time of 23:07.1, while Dana Reynolds of Maranacook rounded out the top five with her 23:17.4 performance.

Maranacook the defending team champions cruised to another team title with just 35 points, they placed all seven varsity athlete in the top 20 an impressive display of talent and depth for the Black Bears.

Medomak Valley had a strong team finish to grab runner-up honors with 92 as they held of Morse who was third just five points back.
