MRC Performance of the Week: Bethanie Brown & Silas Eastman

Maine Running Company Performances of the Week

The 2x defending Class B XC Champion Silas Eastman (Fryeburg) got his season off to a flying start clocking a fast 16:07 5k at Pineland Farms last week. Eastman who is the odds on favorite to win another state title this fall has shown he has done the training necessary to repeat as well as run faster than he ever has before. Silas also won the Lake Region Invitational the week before in a course record. Out of the 44 votes cast this week, Silas received 24 for 54.55% of the vote

Senior Bethanie Brown (Waterville) opened her season with a stellar 17:41 clokcing over 3 miles @ Bangor. She won the girls race by an astounding 2:21, and her mark would have placed her 6th in the boys race. Brown in just her second season of XC is primed to make a run at her first XC state title this fall, and a possible run at a qualifying spot in the Footlocker Nationals. Brown's mark was a Milesplit National Elite mark and currently ranks her #12 in the country over 3 miles. Bethanie also received 24 votes for 54.55% for her effort.

Congratulations to both Bethanie & Silas on being selected as the Maine Running Company Performance of the Week
