FOC: Mohamed Awil Pre-Meet Interview

Mohamed Awil Sr. Lewiston HS

Mohamed you had a great individual season winning 2 times so far, what are your individual goals for FOC?

My individual goal for the FOC is to get good time and beat that 32nd place from last year. It is just a great opportunity to run with some great kids that i never ran with. I am also hoping to get used the course as we have the Eastern Maine and the class A state meet at same course.

What do think you the biggest reason for your improvement has been this year, last year you placed 32nd last year running 17:58?

I think running over the summer was the biggest reason for my improvement this year. It was my first time running off season and i think the hard work i did over the summer is paying off.

You run on one of the top ranked teams in Maine, what is the focus of team for FOC?

Our team focus for the FOC is to be the top team from Maine. Based on the times we ranked 3rd, behind Scarborough and Cumberland (RI). We will do our best to fight for top spot and we are ready to challenge.

How do you think the out of state schools will affect the team race?

I think the out of states schools will affect the team race because some schools have one or two guys that can fight for top spot and get some points.

What is your favorite memory of racing at FOC?

My favorite memory of racing at FOC was that you always have someone to run with no matter how slow or fast you going. Passing people every step you take and getting encouraged by people who passed you.
