Girls Pole Vault
Headlined by 3 time Class A champion and current state leader Lindsey Folsom Cony 10-10 the field features the top 12 vaulters in the state.
Boys Pole Vault
State leader Devin Burgess of Waterville 13-6 leads the field that includes defending Class A champion Alec James of Scarborough
Boys Long Jump
Thornton Academy sophomore Andrew Smith the state leader 20-9 1/2 is the top seed
Girls Long Jump
Defending Class B long jump champion Kate Hall is entered. She has yet to compete this year, but won the long jump title last year as a freshman at the USM Relays. State #2 jumper Amanda Arnold of TA (16-7) will be jumping as well
Girls Shot Put
State leader Ashley Belanger of Biddeford leads the entrants with a 34-5 throw this season, also in the field is Class B leader Rachael Bergeron of Waterville 34-1 1/2.
Boys Shot Put
The top 3 throwers in the state in 2012-13 are competing with Deering's Jared Bell 53-3 1/2 leading the field. Bell is currently ranked #22 in the country. David LePauloe (49-1 1/2) & Cody Meserve (47-2) of Thornton Academy will look to challenge
Girls High Jump
Co-meet record holder Grace MacLean of Bangor who has jumped 5-2 this season leads the field. MacLean is tied for the state lead.
Boys High Jump
Trevor Luck of Kennebunk & Michael Orne of Cheverus highlight the jumpers, both have cleared 6-2 this season which is a state leading mark.
Girls Triple Jump
State leader Kellie Bolduc of Waterville is the top jumper (35-0 1/2)
Boys Triple Jump
Waterville's Jordhan Levine (42-1 1/2) the state leader heads the field
Girls 1 Mile
The all-time maine indoor record holder Bethanie Brown of Waterville is the top seed, Brown has already one sub 5 performance to her credit this December. The meet record is 5:06.62, so Brown could shatter that mark.
Boys 1 Mile
Bangor's Jonathan Stanhope is the top seeded athlete entered. Stanhope has a sub 4:30 to his credit from last year
Girls 55m
Defending USM Relays Champion Kate Hall of Lake Region leads the field, last year as a freshman Hall clocked 7.36 which was just off the meet record of 7.33. This will be Kate's first race of the indoor season, she won the Class B state title in the event last winter.
Boys 55m
Denzel Tomaszewski of Wells will be making his debut this indoor season. Tomaszewski won the event last year in 6.74, and then went on to win the Class B title, and then go on to break the 60m Maine all-time best. Noble's Ethan Beaulier the defending Class A champion has a 6.77 to his credit this season, and will be ready for a challenge
Girls 55m Hurdles
Bangor's Grace MacLean was the runner-up last year running 8.85, she has yet to run a hurdle race this year but could be looking to open even faster. Look for Thornton Academy's Carly McKenna who is the current state leader with a 9.23 to challenge for the win
Boys 55m Hurdles
Travis Grant of Gorham has the fastest time this season for those entered at 8.36, he finished 7th a year ago. There will be plenty of competition with Devin Burgess of Waterville & Zac Lee of Erskine who have both run 8.41. Justin Gagnon of Biddeford & Jordhan Levine of Waterville also have run under 8.50
Girls Pentathlon
Some of top athletes in the state are entered including Grace MacLean of Bangor, Carly McKenna & Amanda Arnold of Thornton Academy
Boys Pentathlon
Look for Deering's Billy Farrell, Cheverus's Michael Orne & Jacob Schott, South Portland's Ryan Tuttle & Gorham's Travis Grant to challenge for the top spot
