Jack Terwilliger (Cheverus) returned from an IT band injury that has hampered his fall season in style, winning the in-town showdown between South Portland, Portland, Deering, McAuley (girls only) & Cheverus. Terwilliger covered the 3 mile course in 17:05, good for a 17 second win over Sean Perry (Deering). The Rams of Deering edged the host Stags 37-38 for the team win, the key was 3 of the top 5 finishers and 4 in the top 10. On the girls side, Emily Durgin put on a show, breaking 18 minutes when she stopped the clock at 17:58.5, winning by an astounding 1:41 seconds over the runner-up Nyajock Pan (SP), who was under 20 minutes (19:40). Cheverus the #1 team in state, had the Varsity squad run a tempo run outside of Durgin , but it was still good enough for a 39-46 win over South Portland. RESULTS | BOYS RACE VIDEO
