The Edward Little Red Eddies swept the Class A KVAC titles on Saturday. The girls team scored 134 to defeat Mt. Ararat (107), on the boys side EL amassed 189.5 to easily outdistance runner-up Lewiston(94). Highlighting the meet was a new state leader from Brunswick Mike Slovenki in the pole vault 14-10 while sprinter McKenzie Gary lowered his state leader to 22.52. Cony's Lindsey Folsom also added a styate leading 10-6 in the vault. In the Class B action Waterville girls were impressive scoring 181.5 to take down cross river rival Winslow(99.5). On the boys side the Purple Panthers tallied 148 to hold off Belfast (111.5). Edward Little's track and field preseason was twice as long as the season itself. "We went six weeks without a competition. Six weeks," EL girls' coach Rebecca Hefty said.
