Lily Horne of Freeport & Mitch Libby of Wells ran to individual WMC titles in D1, while Freeport Boys take top team spot in D1, with Wells winning D2. On the girls side Cape Elizabeth won D1 title, with Maine Coast Waldorf tops in D2
The WMC Championships are set to go off Friday afternoon at St. Joseph's College in Standish. The Yorkgirls' won the Division 1 title last year, while Falmouth, who is no longer in the conference, took the boys' title. In Division 2, the St. Dominic girls' and Wells boys' were winners.
This weekend in Maine XC featured two of the top girls' teams in Class A squaring off in Falmouth and two of the top male runners in Class A North facing off for the second time and three weeks.

The Boothbay boys added their 3rd straight MVC title, while St. Dominic claimed the girls title at the MVC Championship meet held at UMA this afternoon. In the boys race Chase Brown (Boothbay) handed Madison's Matt McClintock his first loss of the season, as he pulled away over the last 600m to win in a fast 16:22 to McClintock's 16:32, Telstar freshman Josef Holt-Andrews was third. Boothbay had 3 in the top 9, to edge Monmouth by just 4 points for the boys team title. Monmouth has 3 of the top 8 finishers. In the girls race Boothbay's Sophia Thayer, just a freshman, claimed the individual title running 21:23 over the 5k course, she was 46 seconds better than runner-up Anna Doyle. St. Dom's first runner was 11th, but a tight pack for #2-#4 runners was enough to get by Winthrop 3 points 41-44. RESULTS
The MVC Championship meet will be held Saturday at the University of Maine at Augusta. The Boys team race should be a good match-up between the defending Class C state champions & MVC Champions looking for a repeat, while they will face a stiff challenge from Monmouth Academy. Falmouth's Jamey Epstein 17:27 won a 4 team meet held at Royal River Park today in a light rain. On the girl's side Carolyn Joseph from St. Dom's held off a large pack of Falmouth runners to take the top spot in 22:21. The Falmouth Boys had a perfect score of 15 for the win, while the Falmouth girls took the top spot with a score of 20.
