Hall takes down 2 all-time state bests

Kate Hall leaps to state all time best 18-5 in the long jump then adds state all-time best equalling 11.8 hand time in the 100m

State all-time best list

Super soph Kate Hall is rounding into late season form with the championship meets approcaching. At a WMC regular season meet on her home track on Monday, Hall blitzed the 100m into a headwind, her time was 11.8. The previous best hand timed mark for girls was 12.1, which was run by Old Orchard Beach's Kim Doucette at the 1981 Class C State meet. The mark will be considered a co-record as this was a regular season meet, with timing done by non-experienced officials.

Hall wasn't done, in her last meet she equalled the state all-time best in the long jump of 18-2. Two others Jesse Labreck of Messalonskee (1998) & Allison Kent of Gorham 1981) had previously jumped 18-2. Kate erased both from the record books as she leapt a new outdoor personal best of 18-5. The mark is just behind her 18-6 1/2 state all time best from the indoor season.

MaineTrackXC caught up with Kate last night to talk with her about her new record. "Breaking the all time best in long jump was one of my biggest goals from the start of outdoor and I was so thrilled to get it after being close in my first two meets! I definitely had the biggest smile when I found out I had jumped 18-5. And 19 feet is also a big big goal for me. I can feel myself getting closer all the time because even some of my 18 foot jumps have been a foot behind the board. I'm just waiting for that perfect day where my mark is right on!"

Breaking records is nothing new for Hall, who broke state all-time best in the long jump (18-6 1/2), 55m (7.07) & 200m (24.81) during the indoor season. Hall who is getting close to the 25.06 all-time best in the 200, on Monday she ran a 25.0h

Currently Hall ranks #1 in New England in the long jump & the 100m & #3 in the 200m
