Tell us how your summer training is going?:

My summer training has gone really well. I have had the opportunity to attend two different out of state running camps as well as running at my summer house.

What are your goals for the upcoming season?:

My goals this year are to break into the 18's and to lead my team to the State Championship meet and possibly to the New England Championships.

How long have you been running and how did you get started?:

I have been running since 8th grade. This will be my 5th year of cross country.

Will you be competing anywhere out of state this season?:

I currently have no race plans outside of the state.

What is your favorite course to run in Maine?:

My favorite course is definitely the Westbrook course. I ran the course for the first time this past year and thought that the variety of terrain made it more enjoyable to run on.

What is the toughest course to run in Maine?:

The hardest course i've run on is the apple orchard at Massabesic. Talk about a hamstring burner.

What meet during the regular season do you put extra emphasize on to compete well at?:

I put a lot of effort in competing at the Festival of Champions, because it gives me a chance to see where I stand in the state against all three classes.

What is your favorite cross country race so far in your high school career?:

My all time favorite course is Gorham because it's flat and fast.

Favorite cross country memory?:

My favorite cross country memory was the Senior Night Race on our home course my Freshman year. Our team ran together to help out two teammates achieve their goals.

When you are not running what is your favorite thing to do?:

When I am not running, I enjoy spending time with friends and family and surfing.

Favorite quote?:

My favorite quote, " I may not be there yet, but I am closer then I was yesterday", has helped me through my running career to realize that nothing comes easy, and if you really want something you will have to work for it.

What shoes do you train in?:

I wear Mizuno Inspire trainers year round.

What shoes do you race in?:

I race in the Saucony Shay spike.

What professional athlete would you most like to meet?:

I would like to meet Jackie Joyner-Kersee. I find her inspirational because she never gave up even during difficult times early in her career. Through hard work and determination, she eventually achieved her goals.

What is something that most people don't know about you?

I like going Canyoneering. My family recently went on vacation out west and we went repelling down waterfalls as well as hiking up a river bed through a narrow gorge.
