MRC Performance of the Week: Kate Hall & James Ociti

Hall & Ociti claim week 2 honors

Junior sprint/jump star Kate Hall of Lake Region broke her own long jump state record at the Bowdoin Relays last weekend as she added close to 8 inches to her former record. Hall's previous record had been 18-6 1/2. Kate who is the two time defending Class B long jump champion, is the heavy favorite to win again this winter. The 19-2 jump has her ranked #1 in the country.

Biddeford 400m star James Ociti opened his 2013-14 season in the 2 lapper this past weekend, and he didn't disappoint with an impressive 50.89 clocking. Ociti dominated the race right from the gun, as he easily handled the state #2 Hany Ramadan of Deering. Last year James was the state runner-up in the 400m running 50.26 which was under the previous state meet record. Ociti is the early favorite to win the 400m, and will be a force in the other sprint events as well, currently he has the state leading 200m, 23.56.

Congratulations to Kate & James being selected for the Maine Running Company Performance of the Week
