Hello again, everyone!

I hope everyone’s seasons are going well so far. Unfortunately, for a lot of us, this weather has decreased the amount of meets we would be participating in this year (always my least favorite thing about indoor.)

Things have been very exciting recently! I still can’t wrap my mind around what happened in Rhode Island a few weeks ago. I have to say, my goal was to jump in the 19’s again, but I was very surprised when I almost hit 20 feet and almost broke 7 seconds in the 55m. The support from everyone has been mind blowing, and once again, I cannot express enough how much that means to me.

As for training, things are continuing to go well! Recently I’ve had trouble recovering after running 150s and 200s. Usually it only takes a few weeks for me to get used to running that amount of distance with four or five minutes of recovery in between, although this year it’s been much harder. Even running 100s, I need fifteen to twenty minutes of recovery after running only three. I’ve been experimenting with some different methods in order to improve my recovery time, so hopefully I can get that straightened out over the next few weeks.

It was so nice to finally compete in my first regular season meet on Friday. No matter how exciting it is to compete in the huge, out of state meets, it’s always my favorite to compete on my home track along side all of the amazing people I’ve gotten to know the past three years and my teammates. I would have to say I’m most excited about running 25.17 in that meet for my first 200m this year. I was aiming for mid 25’s, and I couldn’t believe I ran even faster than that considering I’ve been having a hard time with my 200m workouts in practice.

I can’t wait to compete in the upcoming meets and watch how everyone else does as well! I hope everyone has a wonderful week!
