MRC Performance of the Week: Kialeigh Marston & Trever Gray

Bonny Eagle sophomore Kialeigh Marston is on her way to being a household name, and it might not be long until the record books have her name in them. Marston broke the SMAA jr division 800m record last week, well smashed would be a better word as she took close to 7 seconds off the existing record with her 2:17.73 clocking. It was a lifetime best for the sophomore, her time took over the Class A lead, and ranks her state #2, only behind Ellsworth's Aleta Looker. If the solo 2:17.73 clocking is any indication of what is to come expect the times to drop even further when she is pushed. Currently Kialeigh 2:17.73 ranks her the #3 sophomore in the country for 800m. A showdown with defending Class A and state meet record holder Edie Pallozi of Deering might be the race to watch at the state meet.

After a disappointing day at the Dartmouth Relays two weeks ago Waterville sophomore Trever Gray showed the true talent he has with a huge personal best 52-11 throw at a KVAC regular season meet at Colby last weekend. Trever, who entered the meet with a best of 50-3 first improved to 51-2 1/2 before unleashing his huge 52-11 bomb, he is the only thrower over 50ft this winter. His throw currently has him ranked #4 nationally for the class of 2016, 5th in New England and has him almost 3 1/2 feet better than the #2 thrower in Class B. Expect bigger things from Gray, who uses the spin technique, according to his coach he's been throe in thr 53-54 range in practice.

Congratulations to both Kialeigh & Trever for being selected for the Maine Running Company Performance of the Week
