ITHACA, N.Y. – Junior Emilia Scheemaker shattered her own triple jump record to lead the Ithaca College women's track & field team in competition Saturday at Cornell's Upstate Challenge. The Bombers faced six Division I and one additional Division III school at the meet.

Scheemaker's jump ranks first in the nation by a startling 54 centimeters. She had held the triple jump school record with a 12.00-meter jump since March 1, 2013. Scheemaker placed second in the event with a mark of 12.25 meters (40' 2.25") to handedly qualify for the ECAC Championships.

Rookie Natalie Meyer won the high jump with an ECAC-good clear of 1.65 meters. She also cleared 1.67 meters during pentathlon completion where she placed fifth overall with 2,925 points. Classmate Paige Agnew finished eighth with 2,440 points in the pentathlon and sophomore Kristen Pompey placed ninth with 2,214 points.

Ithaca's additional top-10 performances came in the weight and shot put throws. Junior Corrine Taylor placed eighth in both events. She threw 11.46 meters in the shot and 13.16 meters in the weight. Junior Kristina Stockburger finished seventh and senior Elaine Abdulky 10th in the weight with heaves of 13.64 and 13.04 meters, respectively.

Three Bombers narrowly missed ECAC qualifiers on the track. Sophomore Christine Kelly ran 12th in the 400 dash in 1:00.97 (1:00.50 ECAC), junior Emily Smith placed 12th in the 1,000 run with a time of 3:10.13 (3:09.00 ECAC) and sophomore Eliza Dewart raced to a 17th-place finish in the 200 dash with a time of 26.97 finish (26.90 ECAC).
