Salute to Seniors: Jordhan Levine-Waterville HS

What was your most memorable race/moment?

My most memorable race came at states my Junior year during the 4x4. I was the third leg of the team and when I received the baton we were in third place or fourth place and after the first 100 of the 400 I just remember hearing my coach yell at me saying, "How bad do you want it?" and I passed everyone ahead of me and we went onto win the 4x4 and states.

Who would you consider your biggest competition over your four years?

My biggest competition was my own teammate Troy Gurski. For all 8 seasons of track he has been with me every step of the way in the 100 hurdles and has gotten the best of me at times. He's a great competitor and teammate.

What was your greatest accomplishment?
My greatest accomplishment was our two back to back state championships last Outdoor season and Indoor and Outdoor this year.

If you could do it all over again what would you change about your running career in high school?

I would have put more effort into my first two years and tried harder.

What were the most difficult obstacles you had to overcome?

Sometimes my biggest obstacle was myself and my biggest enemy was myself. Sometimes I got too mentally broke down and it got the best of me at time

What will you miss the most?

I will miss my teammates and my coaches who have always been there for me throughout track. We were one big family.

What advice you would give to younger athletes?

I would tell them to never give up. Running is never easy and practices are never fun but it all pays off when the gun fires and you finish first at the finish line.

What influence has your coach had with respect to your performance and overall life goals?

Coach Ian Wilson always pushed us to our limits and fought to bring out the best in his athletes but he always told us to win with class and dignity. He taught me grow up as an athlete and as a person. Track wasn't always easy when you run a 400 or 2 mile, life won't always be easy but you always gut it out until the end and never give up.

What are your college plans?

I will be doing a semester at KVCC and then in the Spring hoping to continue school and track at Springfield College.

Who would you like to say thank you to?

I would like to say thank you to all my teammates and coaches but especially to Coach Wilson. I don't think I could say enough about Coach Wilson to be quite honest. He is someone who always been there for me when things got tough and never quit on me. He is someone who pushed me to be the very best on and off the track. I don't know if I would have accomplished the things I have done today if it wasn't for him. I would ALSO like to thank my mom for being at every track meet and supporting me throughout the years. I could always hear you on the sidelines.

Is there anything else you'd like to add?

Go Panthers!
