Scouting Reports Falmouth Girls

As part of our xc coverage we are taking an in-depth look at some of the top teams around the state by doing a team scouting report.

The Falmouth girls will be looking to put a 14 year title drought in the rearview mirror this fall, as the Yachtsmen return a talented squad that is coming off a thrid place finish in the Class A state meet in 2013. Falmouth who won 3 consecutive Class C titles 1998-2000, moved to Class A last fall, and handled the step up in Class without a hitch. They return 5 of their top 7 from a year ago so the experience and talent is deep.

Leading the way for Falmouth this fall will be Vishva Nalamalapu who as a sophomore a year ago finished 16th in the state meet, behind her Antoinette Lambert who was a freshman placed 20th. Mira Wyman who finished 33rd last fall as a freshman give the Yachtsmen a strong pack. Unfortunately the 3rd fastest returner Alexa Hoffman is studying aboard this semester but Coach Paul says seniors Emily Rioux,Maggie Lento, Alta Farrell, Ania Wright plus juniors Gina Pardi & Paige Chamberlain along with sophomore Gabby Farrell 10 give Falmouth plenty of depth.

Falmouth also has a big squad so the potential for newcomers to have an impact is always there Expect London Bernier, Hannah Berzinis, Maddy Adams and Heidi Meyer to make a push to make in into the varsity this fall.

"Our goals are to run well when it counts. We will be at the FOC in Belfast and we will look to be on top or close in the the states." said Coach Paul. The team had a strong summer according to Coach "Given the level of fitness we are able to work on efficiency and turnover earlier with this group. They are working very well together which will help as the season progresses."

Like any team if this Falmouth team can remain healthy there best running lies ahead, they will be among the top teams in Class A, and if all goes well will be a top contender for the state title in Class A.

Coach Paul Says...

Unlike the Boys , the girls are mostly underclassmen with a good mix of experienced seniors. We have good depth overall. It should be a positive battle among a group of girls to be the #1 and #2 etc. We hope exceed last years strong performances: WMC champs , 2nd States , qualifying for NEs.
