DANBURY, Conn. -- University of New England women's cross country runner Angel Waters has been selected Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England Rookie of the Week for the period ending September 28.

Waters, who was earlier named Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Rookie of the Week, came in just a fraction of one second behind teammate Lexie Basiliere (CCC Runner of the Week) over the weekend at Gordon's Pop Crowell Invitational. The pair topped the 149-runner field with identical 5K times of 19:56, helping the Nor'easters to a second straight title at the event.

The first-year runner has now been picked twice each for both the CCC Rookie and ECAC Rookie weekly honors.
