Tell us how your summer training is going?

Summer training has been going great so far, and I’m ready and excited for the season to begin.

What are your goals for the upcoming season?

My main goal for this season is definitely to stay injury free; I don’t want anything to hinder my performance. I also am looking to have a strong race at states, and hopefully qualify for New England’s

How long have you been running and how did you get started?

I have been running since 6th grade where I joined indoor track on a whim, and I fell in love with the sport soon after.

Will you be competing anywhere out of state this season?

Part of our team will be travelling to Vermont to run in an invitational race, other than that I don’t have any other plans for out of state racing.

What is your favorite course to run in Maine?

My favorite course in Maine would have to be Belfast; it’s a very well maintained course that’s always fun to race on.

What is the toughest course to run in Maine?

The toughest course I’ve ever had to run would probably have to be our home course. Our steep, sharp inclines can really drain you that last mile.

What meet during the regular season do you put extra emphasize on to compete well at?

I always try to focus on Festival of Champions, since it’s a great way to see how I rank up with others in the state before the post-season.

What is your favorite cross country race so far in your high school career & favorite cross country memory?

My most memorable race would have to be the 2014 state meet. I had 5 stitches taken out of my ankle a week before states, so pulling off a sub-17 with only a week of running the month before felt incredible. Our team also qualified for New England’s for the first time in school history, making that race even greater.

When you are not running what is your favorite thing to do?

When I’m not running, I love to be outdoors as much as possible.

Favorite quote?

“Life is pain we’ve got to scrape the joy from it every chance we get.”

What shoes do you train in?

I rotate between Kinvara's and my Newtons for most of my mileage.

What shoes do you race in?

I have raced in Saucony spikes in the past and they have worked very well for me, so I’ll probably pick up another pair for this season

What professional athlete would you most like to meet?

It would be awesome to meet Mo Farah. He won gold in both the 10000m and 5000m in the London Olympics.

What is something that most people don't know about you?

I went to New Balance Nationals in 8th grade for the junior high school mile.
