BANGOR BOYS; CONY GIRLS PREVAIL AT MT BLUE RELAYS

The Bangor boys and Cony girls turned in the top times at the Mt. Blue Relays in Farmington on Friday. Teams of five runners each completed a 2 mile loop on the wet and hilly course.

In the boys race, Bangor was able to hold off a final leg charge by Mt. Blue's Tucker Barber who ran the fastest time of the day (11:14) to emerge with a final time of 60:36 for a five second victory. Waterville placed 3rd, followed by Oxford Hills and Mt. Ararat.

Cony's Anne Guadalupi got her team off to a lead which they never relinquished leading to a victory by just over a minute in a time of 71:47. Waterville edged Mt. Blue by three seconds for 2nd place. Mt. Ararat and Maranacook rounded out the top five. Waterville's Lauren Brown turned in the fastest time of the day at 12:52.
