Guiliani breaks all-time best in shot with a 65-4 bomb

South Portland senior Daniel Guiliani only got to throw in one high school meet this winter before his season was cut short due to an injury to his elbow. The Maine all-time record holder in the event at 62-4 didn't get the chance to improve on his best mark until Sunday at the USATF Maine Championship meet held at the University of Maine at Orono.

Guiliani who competed in the USATF Maine Championship a year ago where he threw 62-4 to win and set a Maine all-time best mark opened his series of throws with a 62-2 effort. He followed that with the record breaking effort of 65-4, which was followed by a 65-0 throw, and a foul on his last attempt.

The 65-4 throw moves him to #3 in the county this indoor season and also breaks the All-Time New England best in the event surpassing the 16 year old record of Jeff Chakouian of Seekonk,MA.
