NB Nationals Day 1 - Lufkin wins EE Discus title 163-2


Brewer's Austin Lufkin was down to his final attempt without a mark and then the junior uncorked a 163-2 bomb. That mark ended up being the best on the day, giving Lufkin the emerging elite discus title. The Class A state champion had one other legal throw of 157-5 but that didn't matter in the end.




Edward Little's Spencer Dunn once again earned All-American honors in the boys 1 mile racewalk at the New Balance Outdoor Nationals. Dunn the Class A state champion finished third with a time of 7:01.84. 


Dunn earned All-American for the fourth straight time, see image below.


Also earning All-American honors was Class B State Champion Trevor Judd of Spruce Mountain who finished 6th overall with a time of 7:31.69

In the girls Mile racewalk Siana Emery of Greely was the top Maine finisher with a 19th place effort of 8:14.02.



In the girls emerging elite 400m, All-Time Maine record holder Emily Turner of Cheverus ran 57.68 to place 20th overall after finishing second in section 4.
