Tell us how your summer training is going?

Before preseason I was able to get my miles in at camps and running with my twin brother. Now, Coach Dowling is definitely working us hard, and getting us prepared for a very strong season. Everyone is looking great, and we are very excited to see what is to come!

What are your goals for the upcoming season?

Our team is looking to be incredibly strong so I'm hoping a state title is in our future, that would be really exciting! Personally, I am hoping to see a few times under nineteen minutes.

How long have you been running and how did you get started?

I have been running since fifth grade. I actually used to do ballet and soccer, but I did a running program for a spring season and I was instantly hooked.

Will you be competing anywhere out of state this season?

Yes! We will be at Manchester again this year, and hopefully New England's again as well!

What is your favorite course to run in Maine?

Definitely my home course! Everyone talks about how awful Twin Brook is, but I love a good challenge, as well as the confidence that comes with knowing the course so well.

What is the toughest course to run in Maine?

I remember feeling like the Saint Joseph's course was never ending.

What meet during the regular season do you put extra emphasize on to compete well at?

I think every meet in the regular season is important to get used to racing and to prepare for the bigger meets. However, last year leaving Maine for the Manchester Invitational, I felt an extra emphasize to see how I sized up against girls that I had never raced before.

What is your favorite cross country race so far in your high school career & favorite cross country memory?

There have been some great races, but I think my favorite was state last year. Coming in second as a freshman was not what I was expecting going into my first year of high school, so it was a very exciting race for me. My favorite memory was New England's with both the boys and girls team. We are all so close and it was definitely a great feeling getting to spend time together and enjoy our last race of the season.

When you are not running what is your favorite thing to do?

I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, and I also enjoy art.

Favorite quote?

"That was half-decent" ~D. Dowling. We put this quote on our shirts last year. Coach's words of encouragement are always very motivating.

What shoes do you race/train in?

This year I'm racing in Saucony Havok XC, and training in Asics Gel Nimbus 18.

What was your favorite Olympic Moment in Rio?

It was all so amazing, it's hard to choose just one moment. I really enjoyed watching Almaz Ayana set the World and Olympic record.

What professional athlete would you most like to meet?

She is retired now, but I would love to meet Lauren Fleshman.

What is something that most people don't know about you?

When I'm not wearing running clothes, I'm usually very dressed up. When I was seven I designed and made two dresses. Haha I was very proud of them.
