The top ranked decathlete in the class of 2017, Scarborough senior Sam Rusak took to twitter on Wednesday to announce he committed to the University of Connecticut.
Rusak won 4 individuals events at the Class A Outdoor State Championship last spring to lead Scarborough to the Class A title. Rusak won the pole vault (15-6), the high jump (6-0), the 110m hurdles (15.01) & the 200m (22.82).
He went on to earn All-American honors with his 4th place finish in the New Balance Outdoor National Decathlon where he scored 6585 points.
During the 2015-16 indoor season Rusak won the state titles in the pole vault (15-6), and high jump (6-2). He jumped 15-9 in the pole vault during the regular season which makes him the #2 performer in state history.
