The Orono Girls' dynasty continued on Saturday at Foxcroft Academy as the Red Riots dominated the competition once again en route to their sixth consecutive state outdoor title.

The Red Riots overwhelmed the competition as they tallied 125.33, an incredible 69.33 ahead of runner George Stevens Academy.

The 4x800 started the meet off with a win and the 4x400 closed the meet out with another 10 points, as Orono swept the three relays as they won the 4x100 as well.

Junior Katherine O'Brien did her part earning individual titles in the 100m (12.93) & the long jump where she jumped 16-8 1/2. O'Brien also ran on the winning 4x100m

Senior distance runner Hannah Steelman stood out as she won the 1600m (5:07.62) & 3200m (11:09.91) in personal best efforts. She also ran a leg on the winning 4x800.

Rebecca Lopez-Anido led a 1-2 finish in the 400m as she stopped the clock at 60.43, teammate Camille Kohtala ran 61.03 Lopez-Anido added a 3rd place in the 800, in addition to a leg on the winning 4x800 & 4x400 teams.

Kohtala also added a second runner-up in the long jump with a leap of 15-3 3/4.

Sophomore Lauren Melanson threw 104-4 in the discus to win the state title.

Runner-up George Stevens Academy got wins from Morgan Dauk in the javelin (115-7) and Eliza Broughton in the 300m hurdles (49.29).

Lauren Sterling of Mountain Valley dominated the 100m hurdles as she won by more than a second with her 16.20 effort.

St Dominic Academy had a pair of winners as Sydney Siriois won the 1600m racewalk for the third time, while sophomore sprinter Alexandra Hammerton took the 200m (27.08)

Waynflete's Abby Pipkin won the 800m in a fine time of 2:21.28, she was also the runner-up in the 1600.
