Name: Lance Santeusanio III
School: Noble High School
What was you most memorable race?
The 4x800 at states my junior year because I was not used to running that distance so it was very exciting when we placed 7th place by a very small margin. Also our pre season 800m time trial where I took home the crown against all of our distance runners on the team.
Who would you consider your biggest competition over your four years?
My biggest competition would be my teammate Isaac Houston who graduated 1 year before me, I would always have to compete with him. Also chasing Sam Rusak in the high jump was always a big motivator every year.
What was your greatest accomplishment?
My greatest accomplishment would be clearing 6 feet my very first time on my first attempt at outdoor states my junior year, that jump placed me 2nd in the event behind Sam.
If you could do it all over again what would change about your running career in high school?
I would have tried more events earlier in my high school career and focused on getting stronger and in better shape before I did.
What were the most difficult obstacles you had to overcome?
My senior year I got injured so I never accomplished what I had hoped I was going to.
What will you miss the most?
I will miss all my teammates and the friends that I have made all across the state of Maine.
What advice would you give to younger athletes?
Enjoy the time you have in high school track and field and don't get discouraged when underclassmen come in and beat you in your events.
What influence has your coach had with respect to your performance and overall life goals?
My coach was a big part in any success I had. He would always push me and my teammates and never seemed to be satisfied which motivated us more. Alway too comfortable.
What are your college plans?
I will be attending Saint Josephs College of Maine to study business and continue running track as a Monk!
Who would you like to say thank you to?
Id like to say thank you to our whole coaching staff and every single Noble track athlete for making my time here memorable. Also Liam Bowie and Isaac Douglass
