It was just another Saturday in the park for one of the nation's top jumpers at Mount Desert Island High School.
Mattanawcook Academy junior Cayden Spencer-Thompson dominated both the long and triple jumps in a PVC meet in Bar Harbor, posting impressive early-season marks of 23 feet, 3.25 inches and 47-9.50.
The 47-9.50 mark in the triple jump bettered his own state best in the event.
In the team competitions, Mt Desert Island was just as dominant, posting impressive sweeps.
The Trojan boys, the reigning PVC large school champions, tabulated 216 points while Presque Isle finished with 123.
Washington Academy scored 113, Mattanawcook 55 and Fort Kent 22 in a meet featuring eight schools.
Croix Albee continued his strong early-season efforts in the throwing events for the Trojans, sweeping the shot put, javelin and discus with marks of 51-3.50, 150-5 and 144-3
Albee paved the way for a Trojan throwing onslaught as MDI went on to rack up 60 points between the three events.
Elijah Joyce was equally as dominant for MDI in the hurdles, sweeping the 100's (16.23) and 300's (43.99).
Griffin Maristany also picked up a couple wins for the Trojans, clocking in at 52.29 in the 400 and 23.38 in the 200.
MDI's other individual winners were Calvin Partin in the pole vault, Stephen Grierson in the 800 and Jose Chumbe in the 1600.
Washington Academy junior Matyas Nachtiagall continued to establish himself as one of the distance men to beat in the PVC, posting an impressive winning effort of 10:31.14 in the 3200.
The MDI girls finished with 187 points while Presque Isle scored 145 to finish second and Fort Kent 63 to claim third.
Rounding out the top five were Washington Academy (61) and Narraguagus (39).
The Trojan girls were equally as dominant in the throws, with Dorothy LeMoine picking up two victories and a second-place finish.
LeMoine claimed the shot put (31-10) and discus (81-2) and earned second in the javelin.
Ashley Anderson, one of the state's top sprinters, singled in the 100 for MDI and cruised home in 12.60 seconds. Zoe Olson picked up wins in the 1600 and 800 for MDI, with the Trojans going 1-2-3 in the 800.
LeMoine and Olson turned out to be the girls meet's only double-winners.
Presque Isle's individual champs included Kamryn Gilmour in the race walk, Elizabeth Moreau in the 300 hurdles, Madison Jandreau in the 3200 and Madelin Wing in the javelin.
