The Maranacook girls ended the six year title run of Orono as the Black Bears piled up 103 points to hold off a strong challenge from the defending champs by 10 1/2 points.

The Black Bears were led by Molly McGrail who won the 800m in a time of 2:27.46 and was the runner-up in the 400m (58.97), she added six more points in the 200m.

Nicole D'angelo added a win the pole vault with her 10-0 winning clearance and scored 10 more points with a throw of 35-3 1/2 to win the shot put. While Janika Pakulski added a pair of runner-up finishes in the 100m (13.17) and pole vault (8-6) and a 5th in the 200m (27.67).

Other contributors for Maranacook were Ashley Cray with a third in the high jump (4-10), Sophie O'Clair with a pair of 4th place efforts in the 800m & 1600m, Gabrielle Green a 5th in the javelin (94-7), and Lauren Ireland a 5th in the vault (8-0)



Orono got a big day from junior Camille Kohtala, a she won the 400m in come from behind fashion clocking a personal best 58.57, and the 200m in 26.79. She would add eight more points with a runner-up finish in the long jump with a leap of 17-2 1/2.

Lauren Melanson added a win in the javelin with a heave of 112-1. Isabel Henderson won the 300m hurdles in a time of 48.67.



Olivia Reynolds a freshman from Maine Coast Waldorf dominated the 1600m in 5:14.45 to win by 23 seconds. She would add a second title in the 3200m with a time of 12:33.67.

The 1600m racewalk was a close one as Moira Burgess edged Emily White by .10 as she clocked 7:52.43.



Wells sophomore Chenille Eccleston broke the 13 second barrier with her winning 12.98 effort in the 100m, she would come back later to help the Warriors 4x100 to victory.

Penquis junior Cymeria Robshaw won the long jump with a leap of 17-7 3/4, she would also take the triple jump 34-10 1/2
