On the boys side the Caribou Vikings won the school's first outdoor track & field title as they tallied 57 to hold off Wells by three points.

Evan Michaud cleared 12-0 to win the pole vault to lead and 1-2 Caribou finish with Corey Jandreau also clearing 12ft. Jandreau added a runner-up finish in the 400m.

Evan Desmond added another win in the 1600m racewalk (7:07.66)

The relays were huge for Caribou as they amassed 22 points between the three relays. The 4x800 & 4x100 squads were state runner-ups.

Jacob Gagner of Traip Academy was a double winner taking the 100m dash in 11.66, then coming back later to claim the 3oom hurdles (42.15).

The race of the day on the track was the 800m battle between Wells senior Mitchell Libby and Traip Academy senior Dalan Hubbard. Libby would hold off Hubbard 1:59.41 to 1:59.47. Libby would add a second title in the 3200m before running on the winning 4x400m relay.



Mattanawcook Academy junior Cayden Spencer-Thompson succesfully defended his state titles in the long and triple jumps. Spencer-Thompson broke the Class C state meet record in the long jump with his winning effort of 23-1 3/4. The mark bettered the record set back in 1977 of 22-8 3/4 of Ricky Thompson (MCI).

He added a 46-5 winning effort in the triple jump too.

Bangor Christian senior Austin Keib was a double winner taking the shot put 49-1, and the discus 144-3.

Ashtyn Abbott of Hall-Dale jumped 6-4 to edge Boothbay's Jay Hasch on misses.
