Class A pole vault & New England champion Travis Snyder of Thornton Academy added national championship to his already resume as he claimed the 17-18 year old USATF Hershey title with a 15-5 clearance.

Snyder opened the competition at 4.40m (14-5 1/4) where he would miss his first two attempts before coming up clutch with a third attempt clearance, 12 others cleared the height as well, and he was ranked 9th based on misses.

After that the bar was raised to 14'11 where the senior cleared on his first attempt, only two others made it on the first attempt so he soared up to third place.

A total of five vaulters jumped at the next bar of 4.70m (15'5). Snyder seized control of the meet with his first attempt make at the height. Two other vaulters would clear the height on their second attempts.
