Falmouth sophomore Sofie Matson led the way at the 84th New England Cross Country Championship held at Derryfield Park in Manchester, New Hampshire as she covered the muddy layout in 18:49.10. The finish improved on her 10th place finish from a year ago, as the two time Class A state champion added her second All New England honors of her career.

The race was won by Kate Wiser a sophomore from Pomperaug, CT, her winning time was 18:04.10 an impressive 38 second margin of victory.

Also running well was Edward Little senior Jillian Richardson who earned All New England honors with her 15ht place finish, she finished in a time of 19:19.80.

Class B state champion Lila Gaudrault had a strong run earning All New England honors with her 22nd place finish. The Cape Elizabeth sophomore ran 19:24.50.

Two time Class C state champion Olivia Reynolds of Maine Coast Waldorf finished 24th in a time of 19:27.20 earning All New England honors for the first time in her career.

Camden Hills freshman Elsie Hildreth had her best race of the season as she finished 31st running 19:41. She finished as the third best freshman in the field.

Bonny Eagle the top ranked team in Maine was the top team with a 13th place team finish led by senior Ami Beaumier in 56th place. Camden Hills had a strong race finishing 14th just 11 points back of the Scots.

On the boys side Class A state champion Lisandro Berry-Gaviria of Mt Ararat was the top Maine runner as he has been all fall. The junior earned All-New England honors via his sixth place finish. Berry-Gaviria covered the 5k course in 16:11.70.

Bangor senior Gabe Coffey was the only other Maine runner to earn All New England honors with his 21st place run. Coffey ran 16:30.70 on the course in tough conditions.

Scarborough junior Tristram Coffin was the third Maine runner across the line, Coffin finished a career best 42nd in 16:47.90.

Greely with 571 points placed 21st overall to earn top team from Maine honors. Class A state champion Scarborough finished 23rd with 597 points.
