Brunswick Boys, Messalonskee Girls Win KVAC A Titles

The Brunswick boys flexed their muscles with nine events win en route to 189 points, that total was more than double runner-up Lewiston posted.

Junior sprinter Mitchell Lienert won all three sprints events as he clocked 6.83 for the 55m, a personal best 51.86 in the 400m where he had to hold off a strong challenge from Lewiston's Noor Shidad, and finished it off with a 200m victory in 23.58.

Distance standout Will Shaughnessy matched Lienert's three victories in the distance event as the junior won the mile in 4:41.94, the 800m in a personal best 2:04.67, and the 2 mile in 10:11.

Jumper Samuel Cenescar added a pair of wins with a 6-2 clearance in the high jump and a 19-11 1/2 leap in the long jump. 

Lewiston's Kamundala Crispin won the triple jump with a Class A leading 44-0 effort, he was also the runner-up in the long jump for the Blue Devils.
