In the first year of the PVC-EMITL going to a large school & small school scoring the Orono Red Riot girls took the top spot with 108 points as they held off runner-up George Stevens Academy by twenty-six points.

Orono was paced by senior standout Camille Kohtala who won three individual events. Kohtala set a new league record in the long jump with a leap of 19-4, that mark shattered her previous league record of 18-2 3/4 set two weeks ago, and vaulted her to second all-time in Maine indoor history. She would win the 400m in a time of 61.34, she is the defending Class B champion in the event, and Kohtala would win again in the 200m with a 26.68 clocking, her time in Class B leading effort and ranks third statewide.

Distance runner Eleanor Tyne did the heavy lifting for Orono as she won the mile in a time of 6:00.56, the 800m in 2:38.03 and closed out her busy schedule with a 7-6 effort for eight more points in the pole vault.

Maggie Coutts was another winner for Orono as she won the pole vault with a leap of 8-0. She added a runner-up finish in the triple jump and the 55m hurdles.
