Salute to Seniors: Harrison Osborne (Scarborough HS)

Name: Harrison Osborne

School: Scarborough High school

What was your most memorable race/meet?

Indoor Track 2019 at the Boston University last chance meet where I ran my mile PR.

Who would you consider your biggest competition over your four years?

Alec Troxell for sure. We have been racing each other since indoor track freshmen year. Brian Farino who was my teammate freshmen and sophomore year was also someone who always pushed me in my races to be better.

What was your greatest accomplishment?

Greatest accomplishment was when my friends and I had been trying to win an XC state title since we started our sophomore year and in the 2018 season, we made it happen. Completing another triple crown my senior was something I will never forget as well.

If you could do it all over again what would you change about your xc/track&field career in high school?

I would have done cross country my freshmen year and I would have taken training more seriously earlier on.

What were the most difficult obstacles you had to overcome?

I rarely get injured so the most difficult obstacle would be mentally preparing for races and staying in a positive mindset

What will you miss the most?

I will miss my boys the most. We train everyday together so it's gonna be weird not having them around anymore. Barry, Drapeau, Connor, Tristram, Gatti, Laroo, Losacco, Hayes and Ducott.

What advice you would give to younger athletes?

Do everything your coach tells you. Skipping runs will get you no where.

What influence has your coach had with respect to your performance and overall life goals?

Veilleux has taught me so much about running and how important it is to believe you can. He always says the only thing stopping someone from running fast is their mind. I couldn't agree more.

What are your college plans?

I plan on attending and running for the University of Hartford

Who would you like to say thank you to?

My parents for supporting me and giving me everything I need to compete. Shamus Malia, Colin Tardiff, Erik Larkin, and Connor Doherty for giving me someone to look up to and for making me the runner I am today. Derek Veilleux for being a once in a life time coach.

Is there anything else you'd like to add?

Shout out to my Falmouth boys. They're some of the coolest friends I've made over the past four years. Potter, Faran, Auer, Greene, and Logang. Also Zach Barry is gonna win the 800, mile and 2 mile at a state meet in the future.
