In His Own Words: Getting To Know Nate Cohen



Hey everybody!


This week I decided to mix things up a little bit and decided to interview one of Maine's rising stars, Nate Cohen. Nate is a junior at Mt. Ararat and has flown under the radar a bit in the past, but he's ready to make big moves this season. I'm just gonna ask Nate some questions about himself so you can get to know him better. What is your favorite color?

My favorite color is either black or green.


What are your hobbies?

Some of my hobbies include golfing, tennis, and flipping. 


What was your worst race experience?

My worst race experience was when I had this massive kid named Jace beat me in his first XC race.


Who is your most attractive teammate on the MTA boys varsity team?

The most attractive boy on the varsity squad is 100% Lisandro. How can you get any better than that.


What are your goals for the season?

My personal goal for this season is under 16:25 at Belfast and then for the team it's obviously NXN 2019.


What is your favorite animal?

My favorite animal is a cheetah cause it's skinny and fast, just like me.


What country would you most like to visit?

I'd visit a lot of countries but I mean Ethiopia got some fast people and nice elevation.


Would you rather have an unlimited supply of chocolate milk or an unlimited supply of Olive Garden breadsticks?

I would choose chocolate milk any day, I need to get bigger bones.


What is the deepest thought you've had while in the shower?

Uhhhh no comment.


What is your favorite guilty pleasure food?

Anything little Debbie because it makes me feel like I'm gaining weight. 


What is your favorite pair of non-running shoes?

Yo golf shoes are 100% my favorite. I don't even know why I'm doing XC over golf. 


What is your life goal?

My only life goal is to not be deadly skinny forever.


What is your favorite Christmas song?

Jingle bells, baby.


Who is your role model?

My role model is Will S.


Finally, predict who the top 3 teams will be at this years state meet.(In no particular order)

Top 3 teams will be MTA, Brunswick, and Falmouth.




Will Shaughnessy is a senior at Brunswick High School. A year ago he finished fifth in the Class A XC state meet running 16:06.34.
