Cape Elizabeth junior Lila Gaudrault cruised to an easy win on Friday at St. Joseph's College during the Western Maine Conference cross-country championship race. Gaudrault who won the title a year ago made it two in a row as she was the only runner in the field to break minutes with her winning effort of 19:48.



Maine Coast Waldrof junior Olivia Reynolds was the runner-up, and won the D2 individual title clocking 20:36.

The York girls led by Sydney Fogg's seventh place effort won the overall team title with 76 points, they claimed the D1 title with 47 points. Freeport with 60 points was the runner-up.

In the D2 girls race Maine Coast Waldorf led by Reynolds victory took the team title with 38 points. Wells was the runner-up with 45 points.

On the boys side it was a back and forth battle throughout the race between senior Jack Bassett of Cape Elizabeth, and senior Griffin Allaire of Wells. The duo ran stride for stride for over two miles before Bassett pulled ahead in the woods, and then used his strong kick to secure the win. Bassett crossed the line in 17:13, five seconds in front of Allaire.

Allaire was the top finisher in the D2 race.

York was the top team overall as the Wildcats tallied 46 points behind Eli Hulstrom's third place finish. York was the tops in the D1 race with just 28 points. Cape Elizabeth with 51 was the runner-up

In the D2 team race Maine Coast Waldorf was a step ahead of the rest as they scored 24 points behind a runner-up finish from Seamus Woodruff. Wells was the runner-up with 75 points.
