Class A Results | Class B Results | Class C Results

Lisandro Berry-Gaviria led the Mt Ararat Eagles to the Northern Maine Class A Regional title as he won his third consecutive regional title. Berry-Gaviria led the race followed closely by Will Shaughnessy of Brunswick for much of the race, before pulling away for good over the last 1k of the race. His winning time was 15:40.67 good for a three second victory over Shaughnessy who put up a valiant effort.

"The race wasn't that great, the course wasn't in great condition." Berry-Gaviria commented after the race.

In his only chance to run on a flatter faster course this season after an opening mile in 4:51, the senior backed off the gas pedal knowing a run at the course record wasn't in the cards.

After the mile "I just focused on getting a low stick for the team."

Last week saw Lisandro score a twenty second victory while today's winning margin was just three seconds, "It wasn't my plan but I don't think I laid it all out there today."

Berry-Gaviria and Shaughnessy will matchup for the third consecutive week at next weekend's state meet held at Twin Brook in Cumberland.

Daniel McCarthy of Bangor was the third place finisher running a strong 15:47.66.

Tyler Patterson of Brunswick moved his way up well throughout the race as he nabbed a fourth place finish with a 16:17.35 as he held off Grady Satterfield of Mt. Ararat who was fifth in 16:21.42.

Gordon Doore ran 16:27.74 good for sixth and behind him sophomore Abbott Valentine of Hampden Academy finished seventh in 16:38.19. Joey Valliere another sophomore from Brunswick was eighth followed by a trio of Mt Ararat runners led by Nate Cohen in 16:58.76.

In the team race Mt Ararat put all 5 scorers among the top 11 to finish with 36 points to turn back Brunswick by six points as the Dragons rebounded after KVACs last week.

Ararat just missed having all five scoring runners break the 17 minute barrier as fifth runner Jace Hollenbach ran 17:00.66.

Brunswick who finished thirty points back of Mt Ararat at KVACs closed the gap to six points. They say it's hard to beat a good team three times in a row, and the Dragons will be looking to win the big one next week.

Bangor finished third with 59 points, they had all five scoring runners among the top 20 finishers.

Bangor's Lydia Gilmore sprinted out to an early lead at 800m, and came through the mile in 5:51. Gilmore almost paid the price for her fast finish but she summoned a second wind over the last 800m of the race after teammate Erin McCarthy pulled even with her. Gilmore crossed the line in 19:30.17 to record the fastest time on the day regardless of class, while her teammate was second in 19:38.25.

Gilmore stormed out to a substantial lead after the first 800m, "The first mile at Belfast is always fast, faster than your pace."

During the second mile Gilmore had to adjust to get her breathing back under control after the fast start. "I definitely spent most of mile two trying to bring it back."

The third mile was a battle for Gilmore, "I lost focus in the beginning of the third mile."

But it was teammate Erin McCarthy who lended a helping hand with a little over 800m to go as she pulled even with Gilmore.

"She said to keep pushing, you've got this Lyd." Gilmore said of her teammates words, "She's my favorite person in the world."

Gilmore aided by the words of her teammate found a second wind as she closed hard to win the regional title.

Behind the Bangor duo it was freshman Payton Bell of Edward Little who had the best run of her budding career as she ran 19:51.20 to edge out a hard charging Ava Dowling of Hampden Academy.

Mt Blue senior Kahryn Cullenberg rounded out the top five with her 19:54.83 effort, she was followed by teammate Emma Charles.

Grace Iltis of Camden Hills moved well throughout the race to work her way up to seventh in 19:59.18, she was just ahead of teammate Claire Wyman.

Olivia Mosca of Brewer was ninth in 20:02.33, while sophomore Grace Kirk of Cony was tenth.

As expected Camden Hills was the top girls team as they were led by senior Grace Iltis's 7th place finish. The Windjammers tallied 57 points to finish 34 points up on runner-up Mt Blue.

Camden Hills had all five scorers among the top twenty as they averaged 20:35.

Mt Blue rebounded from a off day at KVACs as they placed three runner among the top thirteen to edged third place Bangor by seven points.
