Salute to Seniors: Tristram Coffin

School: Scarborough High School

What was your most memorable race/meet?
My most memorable race was either New England's XC 2019 or Breaking the two mile school record in indoor 2019.

Who would you consider your biggest competition over your four years?
Connor Coffin (healthy)

What was your greatest accomplishment? Breaking the indoor two mile school record.

If you could do it all over again what would you change about your xc/track&field career in high school?
If I could do it all over again I would've stayed in my ceramics class and not have switched to gym:(

What were the most difficult obstacles you had to overcome?
Injuries and guilt.

What will you miss the most?
I'll miss the XC team, Coach Harmon and Coach Veilleux the most.

What advice you would give to younger athletes?
Listen to your body.

What influence has your coach had with respect to your performance and overall life goals?
Both Coach Harmon and Coach Veilleux showed me that I can achieve anything that I put my mind to. They are both respected members in the running world and gained that respect through their own hard work with younger athletes as well as their dedication to coaching high school running. Undoubtedly, the best coaches I'll ever have.

How do you feel about missing your senior season due to the coronavirus?
I feel cheated.

What are your college plans?
Unknown.

Who would you like to say thank you to?
I'd like to thank my parents for their unconditional support, as well as Coach Harmon, Coach Veilleux, Coach Ross and Coach Kelly for showing me the ropes. Additionally, I want to thank Shamus Malia, Erik Larkin, Luke Grover, Kyle Jordan, Harrison Osborne, Noah Drapeau, Young Money, Anthony Gatti, Brian Farino, Justin Castaldo, Cam Mcfadden, Erik Losacco, Ben Cassellius, Zach Barry and Connor Coffin for being great teammates and friends.
