Salute to Seniors: Julia Berube

School: Edward little

What was your most memorable race/meet?
My most memorable meet was junior year kvacs. I won the 100 hurdles and triple jump. I had my best jump of the season at that meet.

Who would you consider your biggest competition over your four years?
Emily Labbe and Wyley Fitzpatrick

What was your greatest accomplishment?
Breaking 9 seconds in the 55 hurdles and 16 seconds in the 100 hurdles. Also placing 3rd in hurdles at states during indoor 2020.

If you could do it all over again what would you change about your xc/track&field career in high school?
Start hurdles earlier freshman year and the 300 hurdles so I would have more time to break the school records.

What were the most difficult obstacles you had to overcome?
Having hip/back problems and multiple other injuries.

What will you miss the most?
Team bus rides home.

What advice you would give to younger athletes?
Push yourself because you never know what you are capable of until you do it.

What influence has your coach had with respect to your performance and overall life goals?
Hefty has had a huge influence on my performance because she knew that I was capable of more then I knew. She pushed me to start doing hurdles and let go of high jump.

How do you feel about missing your senior season due to the coronavirus?
I was very upset when I found out that I wouldn't have an outdoor season. I set multiple goals and records to get in this last season.

What are your college plans?
I will be attending Wheaton College MA and I will be running track there.

Who would you like to say thank you to?
I would like to thank my family, my coaches and my friends/teammates for always believing in me.
